Second City Comedy Troupe opens its barrel of laughs onto Springfield Feb. 26-27 at the Hoogland. The troupe is one of four touring companies that perform around the world for the business dynamo Second City. Some of the funniest and most well known comedians, such as Mike Myers, Steve Carell, Stephen Colbert and Tina Fey, began their careers at Second City. You’d have to live under a rock not to have heard of the Windy City stage where it all started in 1959. The franchise grew so popular that besides the touring troupes, there are comic training centers in Chicago, Toronto and Los Angeles. This performance is sponsored by Carrollton Bank and 970 AM WMAY.
