
Enjoy a weekend full of blues music and BBQ during the Old Capitol Blues & BBQ festival Friday, August 24 and Saturday, August 25. Friday night performers are Mary Jo Curry at 5:30 p.m., Brandon Santini at 7 p.m. and Dwayne Dopsie and the Zydeco Hellraisers at 9 p.m. Saturday’s lineup features the Illinois Central Blues Club Challenge at 1 p.m., Jason Elmore at 5 p.m., Jim Suhler at 7 p.m. and Monkey Beat and Big Head Todd and the Monsters at 9 p.m. Additionally, attendees can enjoy smoking-hot barbecue provided by the festival’s barbecue contest participants as well as a variety of domestic and craft beers, a wine garden, the Tito’s Experience and Fireball Fever. Tickets to the Old Capitol Blues & BBQ festival will be available at the gates. Admission costs $5 on Friday night and $10 on Saturday.
