On Wednesday, Oct. 18, take in an ECCE Speaker Series presentation titled “Challenges of Youth, Young Adults and Adults to Creating, Impacting and Enacting Reform,” featuring three leaders and proponents for social change. Panelists are Tommy Jackson II, advising director for University College at Kennesaw State University and a former defensive tackle for the Atlanta Falcons, Kansas City Chiefs and Auburn University; Marcus Bright, executive director for Better America, an organization which promotes the development of education in urban communities; and Utz McKnight, full professor of political science and chair of gender and race studies at University of Alabama. The trio will evaluate the landscape of reform efforts in arenas proposing, developing and impacting social changes in society. The panel and discussion will cover topics such as societal constructions, organizations barriers, generational differences, as well as additional factors effecting education, career-focus, the role of diversity in society, individualism and more.
