Lincoln Memorial Garden has managed to pack a full season of fall activities into one fun weekend. The annual Fall Harvest Festival will have blacksmithing and spinning demonstrations, live music, face painting and pumpkin decorating. Be sure to explore the popular fairy house building, which is constructed of natural materials such as acorns, twigs, bark, leaves and grasses, then take a stroll down the troll trail. The garden also has some surprises to discover this year. Tucked back in the corner of Cawley Meadow you will find Aco the troll, Nature’s Portal and The Nest. Adults can enjoy shopping the handiwork of artists and crafters who use natural materials to make jewelry, toys and artwork, plus the Springfield Art Association’s art truck will be on site for more hands-on creativity. With all the activities, everyone will be sure to work up an appetite and some fair food favorites will be on hand and ready – cotton candy, nachos, mini donuts and cheese on a stick. Be on the lookout for new treats this year such as ice cream, apple cider slushies, cinnamon rolls and homemade fudge. The festival runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on both days. Admission is $8 for everyone age 11 and older. Kids age 10 and under are admitted free.
