The Greater Springfield Chamber of Commerce is looking for area professionals to join its new Career Connections program to work with high school students exploring their future opportunities.
Career Connections is a database hosted on the Chamber’s website where area students and counselors can find a local professional to interview about their career and educational path. Students will be able to peruse a directory of professionals and select someone with whom they share commonalities or interests. Each professional’s listing will include a headshot, their educational background, prior work experience, skills and a list of high school classes that are relevant to their position. Students can then schedule a phone or virtual interview to learn more about the professional’s career.
Information on job shadowing opportunities will also be included in the database.
Professionals interested in being part of the Career Connections program should complete the online application to be considered and will be required to undergo a background check prior to being accepted.
This program is made possible by a collaborative grant through Sangamon County funded with state resources secured by state Sen. Doris Turner.
