Buzz Spector is a St. Louis-based visual artist, internationally recognized for his work in a wide range of mediums including sculpture, photography, printmaking, book arts and installation. Core themes in Spector’s work are the use of the book as subject and object and the relationships between public history, individual memory and perception. Spector is a highly accomplished artist who has exhibited at venerable venues throughout the United States and Europe such as Art Institute of Chicago, Los Angeles County Museum of Art, Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago, Corcoran Gallery of Art (Washington, D.C.), and the Luigi Pecci Center for Contemporary Art (Prato, Italy). The exhibit is open on Saturdays, from 1-4 p.m. through Saturday, December 5, or by appointment. Spector will give an artist talk on Thursday, Nov. 6, 6 p.m., at the University of Illinois at Springfield, in Brookens Library, room 376.
