Here’s something a little different. On Friday, an art exhibit will open with a free public reception at the Kidzeum, the downtown museum for children. According to the Kidzeum, the exhibit features works by professional artists in “fiber, handmade paper, animation, sculpture, painting and installation to examine healing in its many forms – physical, emotional and social.” Art has long been recognized as a powerful tool for healing. The exhibit, curated by the UIS Visual Arts Gallery, will run through May 11. Entry to the exhibition is included with Kidzeum entry. Admission to only the “Bit by Bit” exhibition is $6 for adults and children. Adults without children are welcome to visit the “Bit by Bit” exhibition gallery; however, access to other Kidzeum galleries will remain limited to visitors with children.
