For the 22nd year, this ceremony will recognize outstanding talent and dedication to the arts in Sangamon and Morgan counties – the area served by the Springfield Area Arts Council. This elegant afternoon event, hosted by Springfield Mayor Misty Buscher and the arts council, will honor exceptional artists, organizations and businesses that enrich the area’s cultural fabric. It will feature live performances, a keynote address from Springfield Poet Laureate Shatriya Smith, the presentation of awards, hors d’oeuvres and a cash bar. The dress code is “black tie with a creative edge,” according to organizers. “Think classic elegance meets imaginative expression. We encourage you to bring out your inner artist and let your style tell a story. This is your night to shine – make your outfit Artfully You!” Cocktail hour starts at 1:30 p.m. with the event beginning at 2 p.m. The awards ceremony will follow at 3 p.m. and guests will be able to meet the honorees at 4 p.m. Tickets required.
