Steven Patrick Moore, of Winter Haven, Florida, died on Oct. 22, 2025, after a long illness. Steven was born on April 18, 1954, in Hinsdale, Illinois, the son of Robert E. Moore and Marjorie K. (Ciohon) Moore, both deceased. He is survived by his siblings, Judith Wingler of Riverton, Illinois; Cathleen (Kevin) Ray and Timothy Moore, both of Springfield, Illinois; nephews Joseph Nicoll of Salem, New Hampshire; Christopher (Julie) Wingler of Chatham, Illinois; Timothy (Reanna) Scheufele of Elgin, Illinois; and Matthew Ray of Springfield, Illinois. Steven is also survived by several cousins and many dear friends. Beloved pets, Tammy and Rudy, both deceased, gave Steven their unconditional love and companionship and were a big part of his life.
Steven graduated from Griffin High School in 1972, earned a bachelor’s degree in business from University of Illinois Springfield and a master’s degree in communications from Western Illinois University. He was formerly employed as supervisor of the Instructional Resource Center, Springfield School District 186, and later operated his own media business until retirement.
Steven was a licensed pilot since 1992. He served as a volunteer and co-chair of admissions for Sun N Fun Aerospace Expo in Lakeland, Florida. Steven enjoyed photography and aviation. He especially loved his retired life in Florida and spending time with family and friends.
Steve was an amazing son, brother, friend, and mentor. He will be deeply missed by all that knew him.
