The Emerald Underground

The Emerald Underground
Our longest-running Celtic-influenced band continues performing like nobody’s business during the St. Patrick’s Day celebration in Springfield, albeit with a new lineup in action. Though the band seems to evolve annually, the music remains a constant, with a flair for taking old Irish songs and making them new again plus covers of songs by The Young Dubliners, Gaelic Storm and other Irish-Celtic bands. This year marks the return of longtime member Joe Kath on fiddle and vocals while still wearing the coolest kilt in town. Joining Joe in his return as TEU (once known as Stone Ring Circle to) begins year 16 of St. Pat’s performances are bandmates Nat Radwine (drums, percussion), Jack White (keys, guitar, vocals), Chas Blythe, (guitar, vocals), Bill McKenzie (bass, vocals) and Lori McKenzie (vocals, percussion). During the March 18 show, the band features a stripped down “lite” version with guest Rick Dunham and former members Theresa O’Hare and Tom Irwin performing along with Nat, Joe and Chas.
