The Pharmacy Gallery and Art Space is celebrating 10 years of contributions to the local art scene. Since its inception, when it was tucked away at South Grand and Pasfield streets, through today, The Pharmacy has strived to cultivate and celebrate expressions of multidimensional artists. It has worked diligently to be a catalyst and forum for advancing, discovering and connecting through contemporary art, while seeking to enrich and educate the community through innovative cultural events. Pharmacy members will have all new artwork on display, as well as recent art installations, including "Tranquility in Flight," a display composed of over 3,500 origami doves that delicately sweep through the entire gallery with messages of peace and hope. Craig Russo will provide live music, and hors d'oeuvres and refreshments, including specially selected wine, will be a part of the celebration. The Pharmacy Gallery and Art Space is partially supported by a grant from the Illinois Arts Council through federal funds provided by the National Endowment of the Arts and with funding from the Springfield Area Arts Council. pharmacygallery.com.
