As President Donald Trump marked his first 100 days in office, Gov. JB Pritzker called on Americans to pressure congressional Republicans to oppose Trump’s agenda and highlighted how federal actions are affecting Illinois. He delivered a fiery speech in New Hampshire, continuing to raise his national profile while still downplaying speculation that he will run for president in 2028. Meanwhile, Lt. Gov. Juliana Stratton was the first Democrat to declare her candidacy to replace U.S. Sen. Dick Durbin and said her top priority will be fighting back against Trump. Springfield-area residents are also pushing back against the actions of the new administration, holding regular protests outside the Capitol.

  1. Some things never change, including the length IT will go to push the Democrat’s agenda. Case-in-point: “Fighting back against Trump” (May 8, 2025).

Nevertheless, it is somewhat confusing to read such an overtly subjective hit-piece on Trump in a publication serving a demographic that overwhelmingly supported Trump.

Although I’m sure the staff at IT is still waiting for for some undiscovered mail-in ballots to be counted and result in Harris/Walz being declared the winners, the rest of the informed populace harbors no such delusions. Nor should they, since the facts prove there was much more support for Trump than Harris/Walz in the IT circulation area.

Unlike the IT, which relies upon innuendo and slight of journalistic hand to mislead readers, I provide the facts……as well as the source, to wit:

    Cass County: Trump – 70.8% Harris – 27.4%
    Christian County: Trump – 72.9% Harris – 25.7%
    Logan County: Trump – 65.16% Harris – 32.4%
    Macon County: Trump – 58.7% Harris – 39.7%
    Macoupin County: Trump – 68.7% Harris – 29.4%
    Menard County: Trump – 69.7% Harris – 28.3%
    Morgan County: Trump – 65.9% Harris – 32.7%
    Sangamon County: Trump – 51.9% Harris – 46.6%

Note: RFK Jr. accounted for most of the remaining % of votes.

Perhaps the senior IT staff should consider these facts, especially when soliciting advertisers, since they are a significant part of the demographic
