Up from East Nashville, Tenn., here come Kim and Scott Collins, a “husband-wife, Americana/garage, rock/indie, folk duo” out in support of a new record. Married now for 15-some years, they first got together when Scott, straight from New York City, walked into 12th & Porter, a famous Nashville music venue, saw Kim and the sparks flew. They make plenty of sound and music as a duo and sometimes travel with a band. The new recording, 2 Guns, was an engineering/mixing collaboration with accomplished producer Adam Landry (Deer Tick, Middle Brother and Diamond Rugs), a former touring guitarist for Ray LaMontagne. Known for their live shows, the couple has been known to show up with a Volvo station wagon full of instruments and proceed to play them all during a performance. Acoustic and electric guitars, vocals and harmonica are Scott’s territory and Kim covers accordion, acoustic guitar, a bass drum, mandolin, harmonica and plenty of tambourine. Accolades from No Depression, Nashville Scene and other Americana heavyweight press proclaim Kim and Scott as mighty good stuff.
