Time is flying by, and I guess that means we’re having fun. Let’s see what fun we can get into during this holiday weekend. We’ve been pushing the Thursday […]

May music flows
Let’s give the merry month of May a happy hello and start enjoying a season of warm weather music. Dare I say, the really nice weather window doesn’t last long as the famed Illinois humidity takes over soon enough. But hey, we can certainly make the best of it knowing that there’s snow shoveling coming […]

This has been an incredible month of live music as the outdoor venues heat up with all kinds of activities. Next comes May and on into summertime, where we behold the onslaught of fairs, festivals, homecomings, burgoos, gatherings, celebrations, jamborees and other variously titled events featuring music-makers of all kinds. Blown away by April music
Ahoy, mateys, and welcome to our weekly roundup of local happenings in the Springfield music scene. This week is some of this and some of that, but that’s not all; as the warmer weather blows our way, the outdoors gigs increase and we get closer to full-swing summer mode. John Mellencamp more than rocks
John Mellencamp brought his Live and in Person 2024 tour to the Sangamon Auditorium at the UIS Performing Arts Center on March 23. Most in attendance were likely longtime fans, since the majority seemed closer to his age of 71 than not, with a smattering of younger folks here and there joining in with the […]

Hang on to your hats and whatever else is blowin’ in the wind this month, as March is living up to its blustery reputation. The coming weekend looks to be pleasant enough for the season, so let’s see what is happening around town that will get you going out to see some live music. I […]
St. Pat’s party up
Welcome to that most wonderful time of the year when the true “March Madness” occurs. And, yes, I’m talking about St. Patrick’s Day happenings in Springfield, Illinois. Granted, St. Patty’s Day partying happens all over the U.S. – and other parts of the world for that matter – but around our town we’ve always shown […]
