It was disappointing news for anyone who shares a desire to see MacArthur Boulevard return to its former glory. The red, gray and blue facelift to the former Burger King building (OuterPark and MacArthur) will soon formally announce the arrival of yet another cash advance / check cashing business. The neighborhood surely didn’t need it (as there are already plenty of these services available) and it isn’t the neighborhood business we’ve dreamed of. (We are dreaming of a bakery, a coffee shop or maybe a butcher shop. How about a second Corner Pub? That would be great!) There is so much potential for businesses that want to locate in the MacArthur area. Not to add an extra level of bummer but we hear this firm has actually purchased (rather than leased) the building. Oh good.
