If you’ve ever dreamed of gliding gracefully across the ice, the Nelson Center’s National Skate Day celebration is for you. The Springfield Figure Skating Club and Springfield Youth Hockey Association will host ages 3 and up for 3.5 hours of free skating fun on Saturday, March 5, from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The event kicks off with a welcome introduction at 10 a.m., a hockey demonstration at 10:10 a.m., followed by a figure skating demonstration at 10:20 a.m. Free skating lessons begin at 10:30 a.m., and continue as needed until the public skate session begins at 11:30 a.m. All sessions are complimentary and open to the public.
