Catch the final weekend of The Muni’s stage adaptation of Sister Act, the hilarious 1990s comedy starring Whoopi Goldberg as Deloris Van Cartier, a Las Vegas lounge singer, who, after discovering the criminal activity of her boyfriend, enters the witness protection program disguised as a nun at St. Katherine’s Parish in San Francisco. Sister Act, adapted for the stage in 2006, features music by Alan Menken, lyrics by Glenn Slater, a book by Bill and Cheri Steinkellner, and additional material by Douglas Carter Beane. To adhere to Sister’s Act’s theme of sacrifice for a greater good, The Muni will be conducting a canned food drive on behalf of Kumler Outreach Ministries June 28 through July 1. Anyone who brings a canned food item to The Muni will be entered to receive four complimentary tickets to Legally Blonde, which runs July 13-15 and 18-22.
