Celebrate America’s 250th birthday with the Springfield Choral Society this weekend as it takes a two-night journey across the landscape of American singing. On Friday, experience an inspiring evening of American choral music as the Springfield Choral Society Small Ensembles join with Wild Columbine for a celebration of our nation’s musical heritage. “I, Too, Sing America” explores the voices, stories and traditions that have shaped America through folk song, spirituals, sacred music and contemporary works. Saturday is the culmination of the event. In this evening of song, the full chorus gives voice to the spirit of a nation – its beauty, struggle, hope and enduring promise – through a tapestry of American choral music. Admission is $20 both nights. See the society’s Facebook page for more info and ticket link.
