Who says there are no jobs available? The Greater Springfield Chamber of Commerce is hosting employers from Springfield and the surrounding area for a Job and Career Fair next month, showcasing the jobs available here and the talent Springfield has to fill them. Illinois workNet Center, a state-run website listing jobs around Illinois, shows more than 560 jobs posted in the last two weeks for Springfield, ranging from Starbucks barista to insurance processor for Horace Mann. More than 40 employers are headed to the Chamber’s job fair, covering a broad array of careers. The event is sponsored by Lincoln Land Community College, Express Employment Professionals, Illinois workNet center, the Crowne Plaza Hotel, the Springfield Business Journal and Illinois Times. The Job and Career Fair is scheduled for 3 to 6 p.m. on April 7 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, 3000 S. Dirksen Parkway.
