Original lead singer, songwriter and rhythm guitarist of popular 80s roots-rock band The Georgia Satellites (Yes, the “Keep your hands to yourself” guys), Dan Baird is a fixture in American roots-rock music. After the official disbanding of The Georgia Satellites in the 90s, Baird did successful solo work with Rick Rubin of Def American and went on to become a sought after and respected producer in his own right. He’s been recording and touring with his own band, Homemade Sin, since 2007, using Keith Christopher (bass) and former Georgia Satellites drummer Mauro Magellan, along with the special addition of virtuoso Warner E. Hodges, former lead guitarist of Jason & the Scorchers. Ex-Bonafide bassist Micke Nilsson replaced Christopher in 2014, and the band rocked on. Now out in support of Get Loud (2015), the group’s third CD release, the band is ripping a path across America of loud and proud electric guitar, roots-rock music with an occasional, fun acoustic show. Iron Orchard, the rockin’ pride of Macomb, set the tone with a blistering opening set.
