It’s been almost a year that I lost my Jim. Not a day goes by that I don’t think about him and I miss him even more. My wonderful husband was smart, funny, handsome, loving and giving. Jim was the youngest of four sisters and a true gentleman.
A wonderful dad/stepdad, granddad/step granddad, great granddad, brother, uncle and friend.
Jim loved his big family here in Springfield and in Nicholasville, Kentucky. He loved to deer hunt, golf and spend time in Steelville relaxing, fishing, canoeing or kayaking.
He was a hard worker and barely stopped long enough to take a break but when he did he liked a cold beer.
He was a sheet metal worker at the Clinton Power Plant. A member of Sheet Metal Workers International Association Local 218 retiree and retired from the city of Springfield as mechanical inspector in 2010.
He was a proud U.S. Navy veteran of Vietnam serving from 1962 to 1966. He was SFM 3 on the USS Alamo LSD 33. Past commander at American Legion Post 32, Honor Guard for 13 years with Interveterans Burial Detail of Sangamon County. He also enjoyed going on the honor flight with fellow veterans.
Jim is very loved and missed by all who knew him. Until we meet again, sweetheart Xoxo. Your loving wife and family.
