Who was Carrie Michelle Eichen? Carrie was one of the two most wonderful women I knew in my life. I loved both, continuing to love them more and more every day. Before dying, my late wife, Diana, told me she wanted me to find another woman to take her place, so she would know I wouldn’t be lonely. Carrie and I believed Diana brought us together.

I met Carrie at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception. She sought donations. At that time I was receiving free dinner offers, throwing them away. One day I remembered that woman at church, deciding to offer it to her. She accepted and once told me my dinners were keeping her alive. The more I brought her dinners the more we talked. I learned how much she was like my Diana. I found Carrie to be a very loving and kind woman who just wanted a chance in life to live normally and to be loved and respected. My love grew strong and I proposed marriage. She accepted. It was not to be. She suffered a massive stroke Oct. 22 and died Nov. 11. She now rests in peace with God in heaven.
