This year’s cover was designed by Vivian Rollet, a recent graduate of Glenwood High School who is currently pursuing a degree in graphic arts at Lincoln Land Community College. She has a passion for various artistic mediums, focusing particularly on digital art, film and comic art.
Vivian said her approach to the Capital City Visitor cover art contest included two main ideas: to represent what makes Springfield unique and to keep it bright and friendly. The design is meant to look inviting, encouraging people to come visit us for a unique Midwest experience. The technique involved using numerous layers with digital filters applied multiple times to achieve the desired texture effect.
There were more than 30 submissions for this year’s cover art contest. The artists were honored at a reception March 27 at the Hoogland Center for the Arts, where cash prizes were awarded to the top three entries.

I recieved a copy of your 2025/2026 Capital City Visitor magazine a while back in order to plan a visit to Springfield next April. Since then my son & daughter-in-law and my sister & husband have committed to go with us. Could I get two more copies of the magazine for them or could you direct me to someone who could. We’re excited to visit the Land of Lincoln. Thank you Robert Wakeley 9960 Fairview Lk.Rd, SW, Port Orchard, Wa. 98367
