Thank goodness for the internet, which makes everything possible in a pandemic, including Illinois Times. Web traffic keeps growing at illinoistimes.com, where breaking news is posted regularly. Still nothing beats the magic of print, so we remain dedicated to publishing this weekly newspaper on paper. Many of the bars, restaurants, shops, college buildings and offices where fans have picked IT up for years are now closed, so we’re looking for new busy locations where we can place a rack and Springfield’s favorite free weekly. This is nitty-gritty journalism work, trying to get the word out like we did when this newspaper first started in the 1970s. Just like back then, we depend on our friends. Give us a call if you have a suggestion for a high-traffic spot where we’re not. –Fletcher Farrar, editor and CEO
