School’s out and it’s county fair season! Some good old-fashioned fair fun certainly can be had this week at what has been called the premier county fair of central Illinois. The Sangamon County Fair features entertainment, livestock shows, exhibitors, queen pageant, carnival, rodeo, monster trucks, demolition derby and all the fair food you can imagine. Some of the area’s best musicians – including Lick Creek, Brushville and Deja Voodoo – are on the schedule. Country stars Tracy Byrd and Jake Worthington perform Friday night on the main stage. Daily gate admission is $5 for ages 5 and older. Carnival passes are $30 and include unlimited rides. See the fair website for more information.
