Fields of Gold tells the story of A.E. Staley, who went from growing up barefoot on a farm in North Carolina to building a billon-dollar agribusiness giant in Decatur. Narrated by Peter Coyote, the film follows the agribusiness pioneer’s life as he “put Decatur on the map as the soybean capital of the world.” Presented by Spencer Films, The Staley Museum and Motorheads, the event includes cocktails at 6 p.m. and a prime rib dinner buffet at 6:30 p.m. followed by the movie at 7:30 p.m. There also will be red carpet opportunities and a bottle of champagne on each table. Proceeds from ticket sales benefit the Boys and Girls Clubs of Central Illinois while merchandise sales aid the Staley Museum. Tickets can be purchased on eventbrite.com for $60.
