Event celebrates Lincoln’s love of reading
Celebrate Abraham Lincoln’s love of reading and lifelong learning with the Lincolns4Lincoln Literacy Jam, benefiting Compass for Kids’ afterschool program. This special kids’ event in the museum plaza features celebrity story readers, musical entertainment, a magician, local sports mascots and interactive children’s activities. Tater Tots Rock gets things rolling at 10 a.m. with its rock ’n’ roll for the junior set. The day only gets more fun after that. Literacy Jam’s goal is to spread Lincoln’s love of reading. Attendees are asked to donate a book from the Compass for Kids students’ wish lists. Literacy Jam is an ALPLM community partnership with Compass for Kids and Lincoln Library, Springfield’s Public Library. Learn more at compassforkids.org/literacy-jam/.
