Dianna L. Lumsden, 60, of Springfield, passed away on Feb. 13 at home with her husband and son at her sides. She was born on Aug. 1, 1965, in Lincoln, Illinois. Dianna married David Lumsden on Feb. 14, 1988, and he survives. Dianna is also survived by her son, Sean (Lauren) Lumsden of Springfield, her beloved cat, Stanley, and a sister, Marlene Banker (Ralph Wallace) of Springfield.

From 1989 through 2017 (28 years), Dianna was an integral part of Lumsden & Associates, Inc., working side by side with David. Dianna developed and managed the insurance agency’s computer systems plus trained, mentored and managed all of the agency’s customer service representatives and much more. Her contributions were indispensable and are attributed in helping with the agency’s growth and success.

She was a gifted student who loved science, technology and learning from a young age. She enjoyed dancing, music, traveling, bowling, gaming, movies… and BACON! In regard to cooking, she was nicknamed the “Culinary Queen.” She loved to entertain her friends and family with new and exotic dishes and flavors, recreating favorite cookbook recipes from Martha Stewart, Jamie Oliver, Julia Child and others. Her most famous and beloved dishes are Lil’ Dianna’s Big Tasty BBQ (candy bones) and Sean Mom Eggrolls, whose recipes will be constantly attempted but never replicated. Besides cooking, she also excelled at poetry, crafts and painting. She had a wonderful sense of style and fashion. Her most favorite place was Acapulco (honeymoon) plus her many adventures in Chicago and Memphis. She was happy cruising around town in her convertible and blasting David’s music, as she was his biggest supporter.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, Feb. 22, 2026 from 3-6 p.m. at Bisch Funeral Home West, 2931 Koke Mill Road, Springfield, Illinois. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 23, at Bisch Funeral Home West, with burial to follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery.
