Rev. Jesse Jackson Sr. continues to say what needs to be said. Here’s part of his statement issued July 15: “Do not be afraid of that man behind the curtain in the White House. It’s only Donald Trump, the Distractor in Chief, pushing the ‘send’ button on his computer, spreading division and pain across the country. His tweet attacking the four United States congresswomen of color was racist. It was not reckless. He knew exactly what he was doing. We cannot allow him to succeed. We cannot fall for his flimflam. We must resist and reject his repeated attempts to pull America back and down. Our response must be bigger than his intent. If we vote our numbers and our needs, it will be and we the people will take back our house. Religious leaders must stand up and speak out. People of all faith traditions must oppose and condemn Trump’s racist, misogynistic and xenophobic words and deeds. Silence is betrayal of the American promise and moral authority. Saying nothing is saying a lot. Trump is poisoning the well-stream of America.”  –Fletcher Farrar, editor and CEO
