The purpose of the Citizens Club of Springfield is to promote public, civic and cultural welfare in matters concerning public issues and events, provide aid in public understanding of issues, encourage public participation through forums on topics of interest and cooperate with other agencies and organizations in those objectives. On Friday, Jan. 24, the Citizens Club will host Sangamon County board chair Andy Van Meter and Springfield mayor Jim Langfelder for a timely and informative discussion on the future of the greater Springfield area. This is a unique and rare opportunity to participate in a conversation with two key local government executives in a fairly intimate environment. The meeting is open to the public at no cost. Enjoy good coffee, excellent networking and a superb program.
