Ukraine and the new refugee crisis in Europe

As Russia attacks Ukraine, millions of civilians are expected to become war refugees--the biggest refugee wave of Europeans since World War II.
Laura Dean, Ph.D., professor of political science at Millikin University, will talk about the refugee crisis ignited by Russia's war in Ukraine 2014 to now. An expert in human trafficking, Dr. Dean lived and studied in Kharkiv, Ukraine, from 2012 to 2014 and has been involved with Ukrainians internally displaced by the 8-year war in Ukraine's Donbas region. Now she is involved in helping civilians escape Russia's wider war against all of Ukraine.
