THOMAS ALLEN GUM Aug. 2, 1936 – July 18, 2022

Thomas Allen Gum was a kind, quiet, gentle man who always put his family first, from giving up smoking when his daughters developed asthma, to spending his two-week vacation driving to various parts of the country to give his daughters educational and fun experiences.

He was a man of faith and attended the First Church of God in Springfield with his family his entire adult life. He worked his way up from poor beginnings to computer punch-card operator to a programmer, giving his family a better life. He also served his country in the Illinois National Guard.

He’s beloved and missed terribly by his daughters and his wife of 63 years.

His wife, Betty, and his daughters, Becky and Angie Gum
