The Nature of Freedom: A Literary Commemoration of Juneteenth

Juneteenth marks a historic moment for freedom in America. To celebrate, the ALPLM presents “The Nature of Freedom: A Literary Commemoration of Juneteenth,” which draws from the works of Martin Luther King Jr., Rosa Parks, Harriet Tubman, Maya Angelou and more to discuss freedom’s meaning and price. This is a readers theater production in which the actors present the script without costumes or scenery. They use only their voices to share these powerful ideas. The play is directed by ALPLM actor Reggie Guyton.
The evening performance on Wednesday, June 19 will include Small Beginnings, followed by The Nature of Freedom.
