The Hitmen sure got their name right. These guys play the hits and nothing but the hits. Together since the summer of 2001 and recently reunited with original singer/guitarist Greg Bickers, fellow Hitmen Stan Kupish (keyboards), Ty Wiedenkeller (drums) and Tom Butts (bass) specialize in popular tunes of the 60s, 70s and 80s. A typical show could include familiar songs by the Beatles, the Eagles, John Mellencamp, the Temptations, Van Morrison, Tom Petty and Bon Jovi. The group also plays some off-the-wall hits by Stevie Ray Vaughn, U2, Head East, the Commodores, Earth, Wind, and Fire, and Stevie Wonder, with an especially sparkling rendition of Styx’s Suite Madame Blue. Focusing on strong singing with all band members doing leads and harmonies to create a unique vocal blend, the Hitmen are a familiar sight at all the major local fests, including return visits to the Illinois State Fair Bud Tent and Decatur Celebration. As long as the hits keep coming, so will the Hitmen.
