Started in 2016 as a group of friends who enjoy playing music together, the story of Six Rows Back remains the same, just with more songs on the set list. When Caprice Ciota-Hardin (guitar, vocals), Courtney Grimes (guitar, vocals), Patty Kniss (drums) and Aaron Mazrim (bass) play, they play for pleasure and the crowd gets it. From fun snippets of a familiar “The Walking Dead” tune, to “Fame” by David Bowie or “Rhiannon” by Fleetwood Mac, the music stems from familiar rock of the past and topical tastes of the present, with the performance of the songs as interpreted by the band rising as a high point of the SRB experience. As they say under the “influences” section on the band’s Facebook page (which you should visit and “like”) they play “songs from our childhood and high school cornfield party days,” and that’s good news for all of us. Saturday’s show is a special event to celebrate Jeff Dauksch’s 40-something birthday, so look out folks, anything can happen and probably will, especially if JD gets the urge to sing.
