This is a past event.
Led by Kathy and Michael Egan, participants will learn techniques used to grow shiitake mushrooms on logs.
The second portion of the workshop will focus on the use of mushrooms to make a double-extract tincture.
The final portion will be a walking tour of the shiitake, reishi and lion’s mane logs along with a wild foraging tour where participants will identify turkey tail mushrooms.
The same tools, supplies and techniques can be used to grow several other culinary and medicinal “log-eating” mushrooms such as oyster, lion’s mane, and reishi.
Participants will receive a small bag of dried turkey tail.
