Share your story about life in Sangamon County

In celebration of the 200th year of Sangamon County, the Sangamon Experience at the University of Illinois Springfield (UIS) and Sangamon Bicentennial Commission are capturing hometown stories of local people. They want to know your favorite thing about your hometown, how you describe life in your hometown, the most fun thing to do and anything else you want to share. It's simple to share your perspectives through this online form: Responses will be reviewed and posted to the digital exhibit Hometown Pride: 200 Years of Sangamon County. They will also become a part of the Sangamon County Oral History Collection at UIS. Sangamon Experience at UIS highlights the history of the Sangamon region through an exhibition space in the Public Affairs Center, online projects and community collaborations.
