One year ago, the Expert Mechanism on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (EMRIP) held a seminar to prepare a report with recommendations on the repatriation of ceremonial objects, human remains, and the intangible heritage of Indigenous peoples currently in the hands of state institutions like museums and universities to the United Nations Human Rights Council. Some of the organizers and attendees will discuss several of the points and recommendations made in the report. This conversation will look at how things have changed since the expert seminar, the progress that has been made, and what remains to be done.
