COMEDY | America’s favorite clown
Richard “Red” Skelton (1913-1997) was an American comedian known for his work on national radio and television shows. He also had his own television comedy and variety show, “The Red Skelton Show,” which aired from 1951-1971 and won three Emmys. This weekend, the Hoogland Center for the Arts will present Remembering Red: A Tribute to Red Skelton starring Brian Hoffman. This is the only tribute show endorsed by the Skelton Estate. Hoffman’s expert portrayal of Red and some of his most well-known characters – Gertrude and Heathcliff, Clem Kadiddlehopper and Freddy the Freeloader – will have you in stitches. Add a little Guzzler’s Gin and some pantomimes and you will be remembering Red Skelton, America’s favorite clown. Tickets are $28 for adults and $25 for students and seniors age 60 and over.
