Next week we'll take a break from all the politics and news and instead devote the entire issue to the Best of Springfield results. Our annual poll asking our readers to vote for their favorite people, places and things in the Springfield area only continues to get more popular, with a record number of people (17,500) casting a record number of votes (270,000) in more than 200 categories for this year's BOS. People take it so seriously, we even had to disqualify votes coming from an IP address in Bangladesh that our tech support told us was someone trying to game the system by registering fake accounts. But now, the (legitimate) votes have been counted and we're busy working on the profiles about all the things to celebrate in our community. – Michelle Ownbey, publisher
