University of Illinois Springfield Visual Arts Gallery kicks off their season Monday, Aug. 25, with the installation project Filler by Springfield native Jeff Robinson, UIS Visual Arts Gallery director, UIS instructor and DEMO Project gallery co-founder. Explains the artist, “I’m interested in exploring the role that amassed objects play in our lives and how we, in part, form our identities through the careful curation and organization of the physical materials we collect over time.” View the display Monday through Thursday. An opening reception is planned for Thursday, Sept. 4, at 5:30 p.m. For more info about the gallery and the 2014-2015 exhibit season, visit
