Beginning June 1, employees of Springfield Public School District 186 and Sangamon County government, as well as their families, will be able to access a new supplemental health service. The school district and the county are partnering with Troxell and Memorial Health Partners to offer a new service called Memorial Choice Health Services which will be available to its combined workforce of about 4,300 employees as well as family members who elect coverage through their employer’s health plan. “We’re excited to bring these additional benefits to our employees, and we’re happy to be considering their overall health and wellness,” said District 186 Superintendent Jennifer Gill. The larger pool of participants from the combined workforce will allow the school district and the county to keep costs down. Among other benefits, the new health care service will allow employees to visit Memorial health care clinics and physician offices without a co-pay.
