Molly Schlich International & Independent Film Series

For the 31st year the Springfield Art Association is sponsoring the Molly Schlich International & Independent Film Series, the proceeds from which benefit its Michael Victor II Art Library. The series was created by Molly Schlich, a local resident who was passionate about international films and devoted to bringing entertaining and challenging films to Springfield. Soon after its inception, the series came to be defined by its focus on contemporary foreign, experimental and independent filmmaking. For eight weeks each year, the SAA offers the critically acclaimed films from around the world that touch on a variety of topics and with varying production styles. Playing this week is the 2021 film , the feature debut of writer and director Panah Panahi. It is an Iranian road comedy-drama film that depicts an Iranian family driving to the Turkish border to smuggle their young adult son out of the country. Tickets are $10 or $5 for students with an ID.
