Meet Santa virtually

Illinois Times scored an exclusive interview with Santa Claus just in time for his upcoming virtual appearance at The Muni, and boy, did we get the scoop on the old guy. Did you know that, although he says he feels pretty lucky with his job of flying around the world delivering cheer, his first job was shoveling snow at the North Pole? “Well, someone had to do it,” Santa said. In his spare time, he likes to listen to Adele and he also likes to read. He said the last book he read was Around the World in 80 Days, and then he chuckled, “I don’t know what took them so long.” Santa can also be a bit of a villain, to those who end up with coal in their stockings, at least. But, his motto is, “It is never too late to get on the nice list.” He’s passionate about technology, a bit of a collector in fact, and he’s thinking about getting an iPad to keep track of his nice and naughty list. Santa’s biggest indulgence, though, is musical theater, “So, when The Muni asked me speak to the children of Springfield for them, I jumped at the chance!” That’s right, you can have a chance to ask Santa your hard-hitting questions at The Muni’s Meet Santa Virtually event on Thursday and Friday, Dec. 9-10. Visit The Muni’s Facebook page and click on the link to sign up. Oh, and don’t forget your Christmas wish list.
