Be sure to put the Jack-O-Lantern Spectacular on your list of must-do fall festivals. About 2,000 hand-carved pumpkins will be displayed and illuminated at the Thomas Rees Memorial Carillon on the evening of Friday, Oct. 18. The carillon will be playing, special lighting and sound effects will add to the experience and you will be sure to find something you like from one of the food vendors on hand. The Spectacular attracts anywhere from 5,000 to 8,000 attendees annually, so it must be a sight to see. From where do all those jack-o-lanterns come? They will be carved and created by local students, families, groups and artists at the Carve for the Carillon event this weekend. Everyone is invited to bring their favorite scooping and carving tools for this free event. Pumpkins will be available as long as supplies last.
