Over the past 11,000, the Illinois River Valley has been a populated landscape that is rich with resources for those who inhabit it. One of the greatest resources to the Indigenous people of this landscape was the river. Join ISM Anthropology Curator Logan Pappenfort, as we explore the grassroots effort of the Illinois River Bank Survey. This project was conducted by staff at Dickson Mounds Museum in the 1980s to document the sites that lay along the Illinois River.
Part of the Tales from the Vault series. This program takes place both in-person at ISM Research and Collection Center (1011 E. Ash Street) and streamed online.
