The keynote speaker for the 43rd Annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Breakfast, hosted by Frontiers International of Springfield, is W.J. Michael Cody, a practicing attorney in Memphis, Tennessee, with Burch, Porter & Johnson PLLC. During the Memphis sanitation worker strike of 1968, Mr. Cody was part of a small group of lawyers who provided pro bono legal services for Dr. King. Additionally, Cody is a former attorney general of Tennessee, has been recognized by Business Tennessee magazine as one of the “Top 100 Lawyers in Tennessee,” and is no stranger to public advocacy through his involvement with the Tennessee Supreme Court Commission on Indigent Defense, the Tennessee Sentencing Commission and the Tennessee Bar Association Racial and Ethnic Diversity Task Force. Tickets cost $25, and can be purchased from any Frontiers member, or by calling 787-8373 between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
