Enjoy shopping, dining and holiday cheer on Wednesday, Dec. 19 during a Wednesday night installment of the Old Capitol Holiday Walks. In addition to shopping and dining at downtown Springfield’s many charming shops and restaurants, the 2018 holiday walks feature carolers, a 12-foot-tall Christmas tree created by Ace Sign Co. on the Old State Capitol Plaza, visits with Santa, complimentary horse-drawn carriage rides that circle the Old State Capitol every 10 minutes, holiday lights and music in Union Park, and a 6 p.m. musical performance at the Old State Capitol. This event is free to attend, and many area shops offer complimentary snacks and beverages for guests. For more information about the Old Capitol Holiday Walks visit http://downtownspringfield.org.
