Springfield Firefighters Local 37 has been serving the citizens and visitors of Springfield since 1918.  It is a highly trained career fire department that, in addition to a myriad of fire and safety services and training operations, also provides intermediate level emergency care.  With that in mind, Local 37 is offering a Heartsaver CPR training class to the public. The class, taught by American Heart Association-certified Local 37 instructors, is intended for civilians, not health care providers. In fact, Heartsaver courses are designed for anyone with little or no medical training. This type of training may be needed by someone who is required to hold a course completion card for their job or a regulatory requirement. The course can also be taken by anyone who wants to be prepared for an emergency in any setting. The cost is $35 and includes the training, an American Heart Association Heartsaver card, student training materials and a CPR rescue mask. iaffl37.com.
