Grocery delivery service company Instacart has recently launched in Springfield, providing over 75,000 homes with the option of having their Schnucks, Shop ’n Save, CVS and even PetCo purchases delivered to their doorstep within an hour of placing an order online, along with offering job opportunities for shoppers / delivery people. Operating something like an “Uber for groceries,” Instacart customers go online to or open the Instacart mobile app, select their city/store, add items to a virtual cart, then choose a delivery window (within one hour, within two hours, or up to seven days in advance) and check out. An Instacart shopper accepts the order on a smartphone, uses the Instacart shopper app to guide them through shopping, and then delivers the order to the customer in the designated delivery timeframe.
